1900 - Albert and Hugh Gerrard open a food store in Southern California named Triangle Groceteria.
1914 - Triangle Groceteria changes to self service format.
1915 - Triangle Groceteria arranges food alphabetically.
1917 - The company begins using the Alpha Beta name on a store in Pomona, CA.
1918 - Alpha Beta operates 7 supermarkets.
1929 - Alpha Beta is incorporated.
1961 - American Stores Company (Acme Markets) acquires Alpha Beta.
1984 - All 34 Alpha Beta stores in Arizona are sold to ABCO Foods but the stores continue to operate under the
          Alpha Beta banner for another 5 years until they are renamed ABCO Desert Markets.
1991 - Alpha Beta stores in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arkansas were converted to the American Store's Jewel-Osco
          banner.  Months later, Albertson's purchased some of these stores.
1991 - Arizona-based ABCO Foods is sold to the Fleming Companies, Inc.
1998 - American Stores Company is acquired by Albertson's.  Alpha Beta stores take the Albertson's name.
2001 - Fleming closed the ABCO Desert Market chain and sold all locations.
