1955 - NJ-based Food wholesaler Twin County Grocers launches the Foodtown trademark as a cooperative for independently
          owned supermarkets.
1992 - Twin County Grocers acquires 5 independently owned Foodtown supermarkets in New Jersey.
1995 - MA-based Stop & Shop acquires 17 independently-owned Foodtown supermarkets on Long Island, NY and 26 in NJ.
          The stores are renamed Stop & Shop.
1998 - The company files a lawsuit alleging that 3 former company executives bilked the company out of almost $ 13 million.
          Twin County Grocers explores options for partnership, merger or sale of the company.
          The company ventures into Pennsylvania with 2 former Shop n' Bag stores reopening as Super Foodtown's.
          Twin County Grocers files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and begins liquidating its assets.
