REASOR'S (Oklahoma)

1963 - Reasor's is founded in Tahlequah, OK by Larry Reasor.
2008 - The Reasor family operates 15 supermarkets and 2 Lil' Reasor's convenience stores in Oklahoma.

RED OWL STORES ~ COUNTRY STORES

Red Owl Stores was a voluntary chain of independent grocery stores.
1982 - Red Owl files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
1985 - Red Owl sold its company-owned stores (Red Owl and Country Stores)
to independent owners and began to concentrate on food distribution.

REDNER'S WHOLESALE MARKETS (Pennsylvania)

1970 - Redner's Markets was founded when former Grand Union supermarket manager Earl Redner purchased 2 small
supermarkets near Reading, PA.
1975 - Redner's becomes an employee-owned company.
1979 - Operating under the IGA banner up until this time, the company changes its store names to Redner's Markets.
1987 - The company launches its Redner's Wholesale Markets banner.
2008 - Redner's operates 39 Redner's Warehouse Markets and 12 Redner's Quick Shoppe convenience stores in PA, NY and MD.

REMKE MARKETS (Kentucky)

1897 - William Remke opened a meat market in Covington, KY.
1935 - Remke's sons opened the company's first self-service supermarket.
1996 - Remke's becomes an employee-owned company.
2002 - Remke's opened their first in-store pharmacies.

RIESBECK'S FOOD MARKETS (Ohio)
Mor For Less ~ Pick 'n Save ~ Village Market ~ Pick 'n Save

1932 - Margaret Riesbeck founded Riesbeck's Food Markets in Martins Ferry, OH.
1934 - Margaret's son Charles left his job with A&P and opened a food market, also in Martins Ferry.
1936 - The family owns 4 grocery stores.
1958 - The company opened its first supermarket.
1985 - The company expanded into West Virginia.
1992 - The company launched its Riesbeck's Mor For Less limited assortment banner with 2 stores in Ohio.
1996 - Riesbecks launched its Village Market fresh market format on Ohio.
2008 - Riesbecks operates 15 supermarkets and 6 pharmacies in OH and WV under the Riesbecks, Riesbecks Mor For Less,
Village Market and Pick 'n Save banners.

ROCHE BROTHERS ~ SUDBURY FARMS (Massachusetts)

1952 - Pat and Bud Roche founded Roche Brothers in Roslindale, MA.
1959 - The brothers open a second store in Needham.
1980 - The company launched its Sudbury Farms stores.
2007 - The company operates 18 stores under the Roche Brothers and Sudbury Farms banners.

ROSAUER'S (Washington)

1934 - J Merton Rosauer purchases a small grocery store in Spokane, WA.
1938 - Rosauer sold his first store and purchased another.
1949 - Rosauer opened his first supermarket.
1984 - Rosauer's is acquired by URM Stores.
1990 - Rosauer's is acquired by the company's employee stock ownership plan.
1994 - Rosauer's acquired a Super 1 Foods Store in Spokane.
1996 - Rosauer's purchased the Monroe Street Market and Spokane Wine Company store. The market was renamed
Huckleberry's Natural Market.
1997 - The company acquired another Super 1 Foods store.
2000 - Rosauer's has 13 Rosauer's Food & Drug Super Stores, 5 Super 1 Foods stores and a Huckleberry's Natural Market.
2000 - URM Stores repurchased Rosauer's.

ROTH'S FRESH MARKETS (Oregon)

1962 - Roth's Fresh Markets was founded by Hermann Jochimsen and Orville Roth in Silverton, OR.
1965 - Roth's opened 5 new locations.
1969 - Roth's opened 2 new stores.
2008 - Roth's Fresh Markets operated 11 supermarkets in Oregon.

ROUNDY'S (Wisconsin)
Pick 'n Save ~ Copps Food Centers ~ Rainbow Foods ~ Mega Mart ~ Ultra Mart ~ Metro Market

1872 - Smith, Roundy & Co. is founded in Milwaukee, WI as a food wholesaler.
1999 - Roundy's operated 18 company-owned stores.
2000 - Roundy's began expanding its company-owned stores by acquiring Ultra Mart and Mega Mart, Inc. These 24 stores were
          renamed Pick 'n Save.
2001 - The company acquired WI-based Copps Corp. which added 21 company-owned stores and wholesale distribution to over
          40 independently-owned IGA supermarkets.
2002 - Roundy's became a privately-held company.
2002 - The company acquired 4 Pick 'n Save stores and 3 Rainbow stores.
2003 - Copps acquired 6 Madison, WI-area Kohl's Food Stores from A&P and 31 Rainbow food stores from Fleming Companies.
2004 - Roundy's launched its Metro Market stores in Milwaukee, WI.
2005 - The company acquired 7 Madison, WI-area Pick 'n Save stores.
          The company's name is changed to Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc.
2006 - Roundy's operates 140 corporate-owned stores.
2008 - Roundy's operates 155 supermarkets in WI, MN and IL under the Pick 'n Save, Copps Food Center and Rainbow
          Foods banners.

1960 - Anthony J. Rouse founded Rouses Supermarkets in Metairie, LA.
2008 - Rouses operates 32 supermarkets in Louisiana under the Rouses Supermarkets and Epicures banners.
